John Davison- RJ Fibers

Beautiful hand woven scarves, table runners and more by Omaha artist John Davison. John and husband, Ron Hansen, have been involved with fiber arts their entire lives. John learned to crochet from his maternal grandmother Dicie, somewhere around age of 10 or so. Ron learned to knit at age 9 from his Aunt Margaret. Since then, they pretty much tried any form of fiber arts including, cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroidery, macrame, computerized-machine knitting and quilting. John has always been drawn to weaving and has been teaching himself various techniques and recently acquired his second loom to expand his capabilities. Ron took up spinning about two years ago and finds it a wonderful way of relaxing and creating. Together they have evolved and merged their passions and talents into some of the pieces on display. Much of the fiber in the scarves was spun by Ron and woven by John. That combination makes for absolutely one-of-a-kind wearable works! Most of these pieces will never again be replicated. The materials used include high-quality merino wool (which has had all the itchiness removed), alpaca, silk, cashmere as well as others.
